BUTT

Apparently I talked about cat butts a lot when I lived in MN.  A couple MN pals of mine (separately) sent me cat ass paraphernalia.  Does this mean I am officially an old cat lady???  Hey now!  I'm not 30 YET!!!

Why is it that Fox News always reports only the important news?????

Since this my blog I will brag:  I did an indoor triathlon at the downtown Y last weekend and did pretty well.  I received this email from the organizers.  I believe I have a knack for signing up for tris that involve few competiters.

Congratulations to everyone who braved the stormy weather to come out for the third annual Indoor Triathlon at McBurney YMCA!  This was one of the closest races that I can remember, with some very strong competitors.

Longtime indoor tri veteran Maggie Deschamps took the top spot for the women despite technical problems in the swim and on the treadmill.  In what is probably the closest finish on record, she narrowly beat Jessica Sebor for the top spot by less than 1 ½ points!  Third place woman Katy Fraser was actually ahead of both Maggie and Jessica after the swim and bike, but wasn’t able to sustain her speed on the run.  Keep an eye on her at the championships!  Patricia Meyer and Jennifer Manning stole the show on the swim, pushing down the curve for the women and handily beating almost all the men!

On the mens side there was no single dominant competitor.  David Mendelsohn took the top spot with a very strong bike and run, edging ahead of JackRabbit’s own Mike Galvan for the top spot.  Keith Morton put in a heck of a swim and was still able to keep it going on the bike and run to take third.

For this event, the top 10 men and top 10 women all qualified for the Indoor Tri championships at Asphalt Green on March 9th, 2008.  (The top 11 men qualified because Mike Galvan as a JackRabbit Employee shouldn't take a spot from someone else.) To register, please contact Doug Oldiges ….. or you can register online at http://www.jackrabbitsports.com/indoor_tri.php

Congratulations again from everyone here at JackRabbit Sports!

Tree hugger?

I turned on the boob tube when I got home tonight and the Rockefeller tree lighting ceremony was on.  The people who donated the tree (from their yard) kept talking about how nice the tree was etc.  I couldn't help but think "then why don't they let it live?".  I don't know why I was so irritated by their story.  I have never been particularly "Anti-Rockefeller tree" but I guess it does irritate me how they proclaim how the tree is "green" (pardon the pun)because they used a traditional saw and L.E.D. Xmas lights to save energy and how the wood will be used for houses for Habitat for Humanity.  I mean, shouldn't we be trying to preserve living trees in the first place?  Anyways, maybe I should get out my birkenstocks and start smoking weed.
